DUNKIRK – A 21-year-old Silver Creek woman was cited for failure to maintain the proper lane after she was treated at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo for non-life-threatening injuries she suffered about 8:55 a.m. Thursday in a two-car crash on Route 5 in the Town of Dunkirk, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Brittany J. Meadows of Central Street was extricated from her car by the West Dunkirk Fire Department. The car struck a culvert after a head-on collision with a car driven by Michael L. Vercant, 59, of Cassadaga.
Deputies said Meadows crossed the center line and collided with the oncoming car. She was flown to the Buffalo hospital by the StarFlight service.
Vercant was not injured nor was he charged with any traffic infractions. Both vehicles were towed from the crash scene.
