NIAGARA FALLS – Police caught a suspected crack dealer in a wheelchair who tried to roll away after throwing his loaded .22 caliber short revolver in a pile of dirt in the 500 block alley off of Ferry Avenue, just after 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Frank D. Murphy, 28, of Walnut Avenue was charged with third and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree possession of a loaded weapon.

Detectives acting on complaints of a man at the corner in a wheelchair selling crack cocaine located Murphy. Detectives found white pistol grips and the black revolver in the pile of dirt where Murphy had thrown it and a baggie of suspected crack cocaine on his lap. The weapon was found to have four live rounds and one spent round, according to detectives.
