A woman was shoved to the ground during an attempted robbery on Lafayette Avenue, between Grant Street and Parkdale Avenue, this morning, Buffalo police reported.
The woman was walking home alone around 3:50 a.m. when an unidentified male suspect pushed her to the ground and tried to take her purse, according to police reports. The woman was able to fend off the attacker by punching and kicking him. The suspect fled on foot toward Grant Street. The victim suffered minor cuts, scrapes and bruises.
The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male with brown hair, about 6 feet, 3 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds.
