GASPORT – A 16-year-old boy awoke to see flames shooting from his bedroom closet Friday morning, then managed to get the rest of the occupants out of the home safely, Niagara County sheriff’s deputies said.
The fire broke out about 6:25 a.m. at 3875 Root Road, investigators said.
A damage estimate was unavailable. Firefighters from Gasport, Hartland and Middleport companies battled the blaze. An investigation is under way.
