WARSAW – A 47-year-old man wanted for failing to pay a fine ended up in even worse trouble when Wyoming County sheriff’s deputies who came to arrest at his home found an “inappropriate image of a female child” on his computer screen, sheriff’s officials said.
On Friday, the suspect, Russell J. Bly, was taken to Warsaw Village Court for arraignment on the bench warrant for his failure to pay the fine. He was to be committed to the County Jail in lieu of $400 cash bail.
But while Bly was at court, deputies obtained a search warrant for Bly’s home on state Route 19 and seized his computers, on which they discovered 45 images of child pornography.
Bly was charged with possession of an obscene sexual performance by a child and possession of a sexual performance by a child.
He was arraigned again and remanded back to jail, this time in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
