One man brandished a gun but no shots were fired during a dispute over a pick-up basketball game this afternoon at the University at Buffalo South Campus, according to university reports.

The university reported that the incident occurred about 3 p.m. in the Clark Hall gym when the man – described as a black male wearing a green-and-black hooded sweatshirt, gray shorts and black-and-white sneakers – took out what appeared to be a handgun following the dispute.

“It appears to be an isolated dispute between the individuals involved,” said John Della Contrada, UB’s assistant vice president for media relations, who explained those involved were not believed to be related to the university.

The suspect was last seen leaving Clark Hall from the east side and is believed to have left the campus. No injuries were reported. University officials said the incident was “not believed to present a continued threat to the university community.”

University Police were following up on leads in the case and encouraging anyone with information to contact officers at 645-2222.
