A 23-year-old Orchard Park man surrendered to authorities early Sunday evening after barricading himself in his bedroom for about 2½ hours with a loaded rifle and multiple knives, Orchard Park police reported.
At about 4:10 p.m., a family member reported to police that the man had barricaded himself in his South Abbott Road home with a knife and made various threats. The Orchard Park Police Emergency Response Team responded, along with Orchard Park and Hamburg police officers.
The man surrendered without further incident at about 6:45 p.m. Police charged Robert A. McNerney with two counts of criminal contempt and one count of harassment.
