A Town of Tonawanda man died early Sunday after his vehicle went off the road and struck a tree along Main Street in Newstead.
Mark J. Sperrazza, 49, was killed in the crash on Main about a half mile west of Barnum Road, according to state police at Clarence.
A motorist who passed by the crash scene flagged down Trooper David Ziemba at 4:30 a.m. Ziemba found the vehicle, which had crashed against the tree off the south shoulder of the road.
State police said the vehicle was headed east on Main when it went off the road.
The Newstead Fire Department assisted police at the scene.
