A City of Tonawanda woman who was being processed for entry into the Niagara County Jail Tuesday afternoon was found in possession of more than 84 various prescription pills, sheriff’s officials said.
Rachel A. Battaglia, 27, of Longs Avenue, was found with a prescription pill container in her left sock containing one prescription pill bottle with 84½ pills and was charged with introducing contraband into the jail, officials said. Battaglia was being processed as a new inmate entering the jail on drug court sanctions, according to sheriff’s officials.
She was arraigned in Lockport Town Court and bail was set at $500 cash or $1,000 bond.
