Falls man pleads guilty to having a half-ounce of cocaine

LOCKPORT – Tony L. Moore, who had about a half-ounce of cocaine when his car was stopped May 2 by Niagara Falls police, pleaded guilty Friday in Niagara County Court.

Moore, 32, of Niagara Avenue in the Falls, admitted to a reduced charge of attempted fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas said she probably will sentence him to a year in the County Jail when Moore returns to court June 27.

Moore had to agree to forfeit $1,700 police took from him during the arrest, when came after he was seen talking on a cellphone while driving.
