NIAGARA FALLS — Niagara County sheriff’s deputies stopped a man who they said was swerving all over the road as he turned from Lafayette Avenue onto Wyoming Avenue at 9:42 a.m. Monday. The driver told deputies he was swerving to avoid potholes in the road, but deputies found he had been driving without a license and had an illegal prescription narcotic pill in the car.
Brandon W. Alderson, 29, of Kreuger Road, North Tonawanda was found to have dark tint on all of the door windows. Deputies said he had a suspended driver’s license for failure to answer summons on Aug. 1 in the Town of Tonawanda and on Sept. 8 in Kenmore.
Alderson was issued a traffic violation for window tinting and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation.
Deputies also found a prescription bottle in an open center console with another person’s name on the label. The bottle contained a partial hydrocodone pill and Alderson was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Alderson was remanded to Niagara County Jail on $250 bail. A return court date was set for Thursday in Niagara Falls City Court.
