Pedestrian killed in St. Catharines named

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. – Niagara Regional Police released the name of the pedestrian struck and killed by a car at the entrance to the QEW, at Dunkirk Road, about 8:15 p.m. Saturday.

Joseph Kazlauskas was pronounced dead at the scene after a 35-year-old St. Catharines man trying to enter the QEW struck him. Police officials said the car driver was not injured.

An investigation into the cause of the crash continues.

Detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit are handling the investigation and any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact them at (905) 688-4111, Ext. 5500.
