LOCKPORT – Cordarise M. Houston, charged with shooting another man seven times in Niagara Falls last year, rejected a plea bargain Friday, as the defense attorney said the victim has lost his memory of being shot.
However, there is a tape of John Petty’s 911 call right after the May 26 shooting in his Cudaback Avenue home, identifying Houston as the assailant.
Defense attorney Angelo Musitano said the victim no longer has any memory of the incident. Deputy District Attorney Doreen M. Hoffmann declined comment.
Musitano said Houston, 24, of 70th Street, was turning down a plea offer to attempted first-degree assault with a sentence of no more than 10 years in prison.
Houston is due for trial March 24 on an attempted murder charge that could bring him a maximum of 25 years in prison.
