Roxanne Williams faces a prison term of up to 12 years and a fine of $250,000 when she is sentenced June 18.
U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. said Williams was prosecuted here because in July 2012 she came to Buffalo to apply for a passport using the identification documents stolen earlier from a Florida woman. After her arrest here for the passport scheme Williams was arrested in the New York City and northern New Jersey areas for credit card fraud, all covered by her Federal Court guilty plea. Prosecutor John E. Rogowski said an alert passport officer here noticed the fraud that sparked the criminal probe two years ago.
