LOCKPORT – A Lockport man faces a sentence of up to 5 1/2 years in state prison after admitting Thursday that he was making methamphetamine in a parked car at about 1 a.m. Nov. 10.

Matthew C. Brown, 29, of Prentice Street, pleaded guilty to third-degree unlawful manufacture of meth and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III will sentence him April 24.

Barbara J. Dickenson, 22, of Spruce Street, Lockport, identified as Brown’s girlfriend, is scheduled for a possible preindictment plea March 6. She also was arrested by a sheriff’s deputy who checked out a car on the Erie Canal towpath below the Day Road Bridge.

Assistant District Attorney Peter M. Wydysh said the deputy seized more than two ounces of meth oil, along with coffee filters, a lithium battery, salt, lye, plastic bottles and tubing.
