NIAGARA FALLS – A suspect in gas station armed robbery is additionally facing two separate burglary charges, including a case where he allegedly broke in and tried to climb through a window while a 13-year-old girl was in the house.

Jermaine V. Lowe Sr., 23, of Niagara Avenue, was taken into custody and arraigned on robbery and burglary charges in City Court on Monday and was remanded to Niagara County Jail on a total of $150,000 bail. A return court date was set for Friday.

Lowe and a suspect who remains at large are accused of entering a Valero Gas Station at 1911 Ferry Ave. at 3:27 a.m. last March 27, dressed in black and wearing ski masks. The clerk said one of the suspects was carrying a semiautomatic weapon and tripped, firing one shot. The two men took the cash register, which contained about $200, and fled. Lowe was charged on a warrant with first- and second-degree robbery, and first and second-degree reckless endangerment.

He was additionally charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny in a case from April 13 at 493 18th St. He allegedly broke a window to gain entry to an apartment and stole a PlayStation 3 and a game, a 40-inch flat-screen television and $50 cash.

In another case, on Jan. 11, Lowe allegedly broke into a house at 3012 Monroe Ave. after he thought everyone had left.

“But a young girl was still in the house,” said Niagara Falls Police Detective Capt. William Thomson, chief of detectives.

Thomson said the 13-year-old girl heard a noise in the bathroom and caught Lowe trying to get into the house.

Lowe ran from the house and escaped following a chase. Nothing was reported stolen, said Thomson.

Lowe was charged with second-degree burglary and endangering the welfare of a child in the Monroe Avenue case.
