WARSAW – Two former prisoners at the state’s Wyoming Correctional Facility in Attica have been arrested for alleged criminal activity involving edged metal weapons they had made and concealed last November in the prison, State Police announced Monday.

Tremayne Bowens, 19, of Oneida County, and Jahday Olivierre, 22, of Brooklyn, were charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

The alleged metal weapons were found on them when they were being moved to Wyoming’s Special Housing Unit because of earlier incidents at the prison. Bowens, serving time for a drug conviction, and Olivierre, serving a sentence for a weapons conviction, were transferred to the Orleans Correctional Facility in Albion after they were arraigned in Warsaw for the Wyoming jail incidents. They both face further court proceedings in Warsaw.
