Two men arrested Saturday evening by Orchard Park Police in separate incidents face driving while intoxicated and other charges.
About 6:30 p.m., a vehicle driven by George D. Hagen, 60, of East Aurora, was stopped on Lake Avenue for driving with a suspended registration, polkice said. In addition the DWI charge, Hagen was also found with marijuana, a gravity knife and “numerous cartons of untaxed cigarettes.” He also was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful transport of unstamped cigarettes, possession of marijuana and operating without insurance, according to police.
About 9:30 p.m., a 1998 Chevrolet driven by Gary J. Demarco, 39, of Elma was pulled over near Berg and Bielak roads. He was charged DWI after posting a 0.11 percent blood-alcohol content – a charge upgraded to a felony because of two other DWI convictions in the past 10 years. He also was carged with first-degree felony aggravated unlicensed operation, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to signal.
