Two drivers were seriously injured in a crash early Saturday morning in Sherman, Chautauqua County deputies reported.
The two vehicles were traveling on Pelton Road about 2:30 a.m. when the crash occurred head on, deputies reported.
Both drivers had to be extricated with the aid of special tools and they were flown by Starflight and Stat Medivac to Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa.
A passenger in one of the vehicles was transported by ambulance to Hamot.
Volunteer fire departments from Sherman, South Ripley and Mayville responded.
The Sheriff’s Office accident reconstruction team was called and an investigation is continuing.
Names will not be released until later today, deputies said.,
