HANOVER – A Hamburg man was rescued from Hanford Bay, a Lake Erie inlet in the Town of Hanover, Saturday morning after his kayak overturned while he was duck hunting.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s officials said Raymond A. Adamczyk, 46, of Southwestern Boulevard, was wearing a life vest when he was fished out of the water about 500 yards from shore by an officer aboard a Jet Ski owned by the Sunset Bay Fire Department. Adamczyk was treated in Lake Shore Health Care Center, Irving.

The Chautauqua County Emergency Water Team and the Silver Creek Police and Fire departments also responded to the call of a man in the water about 9:35 a.m.
