NIAGARA FALLS – A Niagara Falls woman accused of shoplifting at a Walmart on Military Road, had her young daughter hand her things to conceal, according to store security.
Nicole T. Shelton, 30, of Hyde Park Boulevard was charged at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday with petit larceny and endangering the welfare of a child.
Shelton allegedly was walking through the store with her 10-year-old daughter and was putting items in her purse, having her child hand her the items and concealing them in the presence of the girl. She had reportedly left the store after not paying for 11 various items valued at $66.56.
She fled the store when she was confronted and was stopped by police at Michigan Avenue and 27th Street in a traffic stop when police found a brake light was out. The child was turned over to the male driver of the vehicle who was not a suspect.
