The case of two men charged with robbing a Cheektowaga gas station last week – and suspected of at least 20 similar robberies elsewhere – has been forwarded to an Erie County grand jury.
Following a felony hearing Wednesday, Town Justice Paul Piotrowski found probable cause that Anderson A. Arroyo, 29, of Amherst, and Timothy S. Reinard, 45, of Lockport, committed the Jan. 30 robbery at the Noco gas station at 5114 Transit Road.
Police believe that the two may be responsible for a rash of similar armed robberies over the last month in Amherst, Wheatfield, Medina, the Town of Tonawanda and other jurisdictions. No other charges have been filed, however.
Bail was set at $25,000 each.
