Cheektowaga bank robber sought by police

The identity of the white male in his mid-20s who robbed the citizens Bank at 1722 Walden Avenue early Saturday afternoon, is being sought by Cheektowaga police. The bandit, who entered about 12:55 p.m. and gave a teller a threatening note and then left with an undetermined amount of money, was described to police as about 5 feet 9 inches tall with aviator sunglasses and dressed in a dark colored coast, dark gloves. He had a scruffy black beard and was also wearing grey sweats and sneakers.

Cheektowaga detectives are urging anyone with information to call the Cheektowaga Police at 686-3505. Tips can also be sent anonymously by text at Tip411 (which is 847411) and include the keyword CPDNY at the start of the text message.
