The Buffalo Bills fan who fell last fall from the top deck of Ralph Wilson Stadium into the stands below heard Tuesday in court that a much more detailed video of the incident than previously available to the public has been submitted to authorities.

The video, put together by the Bills, is now part of the case involving Robert A. Hopkins, 29, of Buffalo, who is charged with third-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment, both misdemeanors.

Assistant Erie County District Attorney Michael Drmacich mentioned the video to Orchard Park Town Justice Edward A. Pace in a brief court appearance with Hopkins and his attorney, Jeffrey Bochiechio.

Hopkins in early December pleaded not guilty to the counts. He is scheduled to appear again Feb. 25 before Pace, who will determine whether defense motions will be allowed into the record past the 45-day deadline for motion filing that has already expired.

In video footage, Hopkins was seen sliding in a seated position down a railing from the 300 level of the stadium, before toppling backward and falling 20 to 25 feet into the 200 section. Authorities said he landed on another fan. Both Hopkins and the other fan were released after treatment at a hospital.

If Hopkins is found guilty, he could face up to a year in jail concurrently on the two counts.
