NIAGARA FALLS – A gunman wearing a bandana over his face fired off four shots just before 3 p.m. Tuesday and shattered a store window at LOEG at 2908 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls police said. He was still being sought by this morning.

The brother of the store owner told police that he heard pops and the front glass door shattered. Police said they tried to further question the victim, but he was uncooperative and tried to walk away. The man said he had been watching the store for his brother and had been in close proximity to the front window when he heard the shots.

However several witnesses on the busy street were able to help police and detectives at the scene, providing an eyewitness account of a single gunman who left the scene in a black sedan and headed north on 29th Street.

According to several witnesses a black man wearing dark clothing, a blue bandana across his face and a black hat, came from around the southeast corner at 29th Street and Pine Avenue. They said he walked up the south side of the street and then leaned across the hood of a white pickup truck, which was parked across the street from the store and then shot at the store, using a handgun. He then ran back to the black car and drove off.

The case remained under investigation today.
