LOCKPORT – A Lewiston teenager was charged with driving while intoxicated Saturday morning after a two-vehicle collision in the Town of Lockport that resulted in four minor injuries.
The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said Jasmine A. Rickard, 18, of Upper Mountain Road, left the scene of the 7:45 a.m. crash at Hamm Road and Locust Street Extension. She was located a short time later at Kenyon’s, a convenience store at Robinson and Old Beattie roads in the Town of Lockport.
Deputies said Rickard was southbound on Locust Street Extension, ran a stop sign at Hamm Road and struck an eastbound vehicle driven by Allan David, 64, of Royalton.
Rickard and her passengers, Justin Phillips, 20, and Dylan Phillips, 18, both of Lewiston, all were transported to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport for treatment of minor injuries, as was David.
Rickard was charged with DWI, driving while ability was impaired by a combination of alcohol and drugs, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and passing a stop sign.
Bail on those charges was set at $5,000 in Lockport Town Court, but deputies discovered Rickard also was wanted on a bench warrant from Lewiston Town Court for a sentencing violation, and bail was set at $25,000 on that warrant. Rickard is to appear in Lewiston court Wednesday and Lockport court Thursday.
Rickard was a passenger in a car that crashed May 19 on Walmore Road on the Tuscarora Indian Reservation, killing another passenger, Jasmin P. Dubuc, 19. The driver of that vehicle, Taylor J. Clause, 18, was charged with vehicular manslaughter.
