MAYVILLE – Recent thefts of equipment and material at the Cockaigne Ski Resort in Cherry Creek, including the theft of a snow-making device worth about $5,000 prompted the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office today to ask for public help in tracking down the thieves. The thefts over the past few months include the theft of the snow making equipment and thirty feet of eight inch metal piping taken from the top of one of the resort’s ski slopes.
