NIAGARA FALLS – Two copper thefts were reported to city police on Friday, including one from a vacant home in the 2100 block of Ferry Avenue.

Police said someone entered the bank-owned home through a boarded-up window and ripped copper plumbing from the basement and other rooms, resulting in extensive damage to ceilings and walls. The loss was estimated at $1,500.

A 12th Street man told police that someone entered his home through an unlocked first-floor window, then stole between 30 and 40 feet of copper plumbing from the basement. A loss estimate was unavailable.
