NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. – A 76-year-old tourist from Quebec was pronounced dead at the scene after he, his wife and their grandson were struck by a pickup truck as they crossed Niagara Parkway south of Murray Street about 10 p.m. Tuesday, Niagara Regional Police reported.
The victim’s 75-year-old wife was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, while their 14-year-old grandson suffered serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries.
Police arrested Edward Coop, 55, of Niagara Falls, on multiple charges, including impaired operation. He is in custody pending a bail hearing.
