A Lackawanna man who fled the scene of a three-car crash he triggered on Cobham Drive in Orchard Park about 1:30 p.m. Monday was quickly arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, Orchard Park police said.
Robert S. Rager, 45, had fled into a nearby wooded area as police and paramedic crews arrived at the scene of the crash, police said. Rager also was charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, because of another alcohol-related incident, violation of a conditional license, failure to yield the right of way and refusal to submit to a breath test, police added.
Police said several occupants in in the other vehicles involved in the crash were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
