A 23-year-old Buffalo man has been charged with robbing the First Niagara Bank branch Monday afternoon in the 700 block of Exchange Street, according to Buffalo police.
Alqifi Nageeb of Minton Street was charged with first-degree robbery, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property after South District police recovered more than $3,000 and the note Nageeb allegedly used to demand money in the 4:30 p.m. robbery. The cash and note were found in his residence on the first block of Minton, a short distance from the bank, investigators said.
Detective Dawn Lopez was credited with apprehending Nageeb. In addition to Lopez, Detective Sgt. John McGrath and Officers Robert Mercurio and Adrian Evans assisted in the arrest and investigation.
