A structure fire Friday morning caused $30,000 in damage to a house on Kirkpatrick Street, a residential street off of Bailey Avenue between East Delavan Avenue and Wecker Street, authorities said.
There also was $10,000 damage to the house’s contents, fire officials reported.
The fire, which began on the first floor of 2½-story home, was brought under control around 11:35 a.m., authorities said. The cause is still under investigation.
The Red Cross was called to the scene to treat six adults and five children who were in the home, though fire officials weren’t aware of any injuries, authorities said.
