An employee of the Laurel & Hardy Cafe on Broadway, west of Bailey Avenue, was assaulted and robbed Monday night, according to police.
After the attacker asked patrons for money, he was asked to leave but punched the victim in the face and stole an 18-karat gold-chain necklace with a diamond pendant, police said. The attacker – described as a man in female attire – pulled out a knife and threatened the employee when she tried to retrieve her necklace, authorities said.
