Six suspects are accused of trying to steal a 1,500-pound block of industrial lead worth $3,000 from a trailer parked on Ensign Street near the Skyway late Thursday afternoon.
Arrested by police aare John Nugent, 54, and his son, Cody L. Nugent, 19, both of Fulton Street; Nugent’s nephew, Nicholas K. Nugent, 30, of Pollock Pines, Calif.; Jason J. Cummings, 17, of Hamburg Street; Jeffrey A. Ray Jr., 19, of Elk Street; and Thomas L. Mosley, 30, of Urban Street.
The six ripped open the rear of the trailer and used a car to drag the block of lead from the truck before being arrested, South Park District police said.
