An 18-year-old Buffalo man with no known permanent address was sent to jail after his arraignment Thursday before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller on an indictment charging him with second- and third-degree robbery for two store robberies hours apart on Feb. 3.
Jose Stitt pleaded not guilty to a $90 early evening robbery at the 7-Eleven store at 171 Grant St. and a $100 robbery at the 7-Eleven store at 959 Niagara St.
Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III said the prosecution of Stitt, arrested hours after the second robbery, will be handled by John P. Feroleto of his Tactical Prosecution Unit. Stitt faces up to 22 years in prison if he is convicted of the two robberies.
