DUNKIRK – A 32-year-old Silver Creek woman is being held in the Chautauqua County Jail on multiple counts of criminal possession and criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree filed against her by a Chautauqua County grand jury for alleged cocaine sales in Dunkirk, the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force reported today.
Christy M. Smathers, of Hickory Street, Silver Creek, was arrested by Silver Creek Village Police on a grand jury warrant linked to a continuing investigation of Dunkirk-area cocaine trafficking. Task Force spokesmen said Smathers is charged with selling quantities of cocaine to Task Force undercover agents numerous times over the past two months. Further arrests are expected in the continuing investigation.
